Like the particles of sand, everything seemed to slip out of the hands, the hard earnings which took years to show up, the status that killed every second of the time of relaxation, the fame like an instant glowing bulb, which can get fused any moment .
Contemplating , he sat on the linen of grass, that was extremely attractive and inviting still was left unnoticed. For people around were too busy and engaged in their own world of miseries and worries.Few fearing the thought of losing the inevitable, others apprehending the failure of certain action which hadn’t been taken.
The velvety feel of the green lawn was so absorbing and relaxing, the moment he lay his bare feet on its surface,he felt as if all his negative thoughts and energy has vanished and been drained through his veins to the verdancy. Why had not he ever come here ,why didn’t he notice such a wondrous wonder!
Everyone spend thousands over an appointment in a spa or find different ways to have moments of peace, some spendthrift and buy things which aren’t necessary for them at all, many waste their notes on gadgets which they feel could be of use during their leisure or pastime .
But none of the things above provide, the comfort and the peace that he got while he stepped on this green grass.
He walked few steps, stood there, gazed around and finally sat.
Within a few minutes he was plucking the small sheaths of grass and throwing them as a kid would , oblivious of his surroundings.
Such serenity and free atmosphere ,he hadn’t experienced since ages.Without spending a single penny he could get the happiness which had been lost somewhere in the due course of life.
Hours went and he amused himself by observing every individual that went by and the scene around him .
Today he had discovered the real gem of life which was precious as well as free.
Soumya – reading your post triggered the following:
There is joy in marvelling a blade of grass – for a great teacher is that blade. Bends in a gale but always springs back, cushions my falls, soothes my senses, and feeds that which feeds me…and much more.
When did I last marvel a blade of grass – when indeed.
You words bring to life so many things as your post is so discriptive…you post is wonderful, its the last I read before I turn in, and it is so relaxing to my spirit…God bless!
Iam blessed to hear that Wendell, the words if can bring peace to anyone and you have been then successful in playing their noble role.
I love your words and your story Soumyav. Such a simple truth that most overlook. Thank you ~ Penny
So good to see you here Penny and enjoying this serene atmosphere of the story.
My pleasure to be here, thank you again.
Today you draw my attention to a simple existence most of us, including me, tend to miss. Grass: how often do I pay attention to it? Good work, Soumyav.
thank you Uzo! Indeed it is always ignored and we hence miss the peace that we can have by spending few minutes with it.
Excellent Soumyav, just absolutely excellent.
Thank u Sheri
Now how true is that.. Indeed, nothing can be as relaxing as walking on grass.. In this mad race, sometimes we overlook the simplest of joys waiting for us to be discovered. Lovely post, Soumya.
so true dear,we have really forgotten the real nature that is so soothing and rejuvenating
Really enjoy reading, very well written…
Iam so glad you liked this
I find myself blessed that I still connect with plants, grass, birds and little gems of life that come free, as you quoted. The post is must read sometimes we need someone else to show us which is written on the wall before us.
Such a wonderful comment Meenakshi. Yes we indeed forget the present and the fact present before us untill someone else shows us that
Its amazing… In today’s world we just miss out finding joy in small things that suround us…and that joy is so pure…so nice…so peaceful..
I would term the peace given by spa and all as artificial…
We are running after afterficial glitters ….and originality is fading behind…I feel we should catch up before its too late..
thank Akanksha for the wonderful thought you share dhere.Indeed we need to realize before it gets late/
Wow! …. Solace personified!
Thank you!
The universe is simply waiting us to understand. Beautiful, Soumyav. ~ Ever, Bobbie
