A BUD!

bud

I want to remain as  a bud of love,

ever blooming in the nature,

even on  advent of winter,

or in presence of  fall or autumn,

ever blossoming, like the soft…

precious petals in every season…

Every touch should get the feel of my inherent pristine affection,

rendering amongst the millions who pass

through the wreath of my warmth,

unfolding slowly with time,

ever learning new process of nature,

absorbing within the essence of truth,

eradicating pangs of piercing thorns

out of fear and conjecture…

I would love to be known

as the bud of wisdom,

the one,who keeps on unfurling more,

as we go deep inside the real nectar …

Remaining a bud is a blessing,

getting showered by the graceful divine,

to unfurl and open each petal,

as wisdom touches to illumine more…

step by step,every moment,

the blossoming never comes to a halt,

neither by any superficial force or any other act of nature…

  1. I think its in our nature to crave for something we lose. Like bald men crave for hair. Women crave being young, no offence :P
Jokes apart, its inspiring to aspire to remain young and energetic- which is what means to be a bud ( I guess ). There is an inherent serenity in things young and unadulterated. Like the Ganga in Haridwar. Gets mighty dirty in Allahabad.

    Lovely poem :!

    • Thank you Tatsat for deciphering this your way! but actually i hadn’t written it keeping this fact! .I was talking about the learning process of a person or human should be always eternal and continue and should continue as a bud blooms and unfolds and blossoms. It gets new facade, new addition to its beauty, similarly, the soul should be in continous process of learning irrespective of weather and seasons, conditions, to fill within itself the essence of wisdom! hence I strive to remain a bud always, humble and ever learning.

      • Well, I guess that is what the beauty of poem is. It goes much beyond what the poet intends, adding to the success of poet herself !

Its an interesting thought actually. Of course, our perceptions are coloured by our experiences. So I failed to take it that ways :(

Humble and ever learning !! That is as good a pursuit as any. I am a quasi-Gandhian and humility is emphasised in his writings time and again. So, I can relate to that…

Your poems always take me places, I rather not go :)

        • :-) Thanks for being a wonderful reader Tatsat and its amazing how people co relate and derive numerous summaries from a single poem! Indeed it surprises me but I owe the whole credit to the one who always inspires me to write those lines,my God..else thinking logically about something and putting it into lines cannot have such an effect…by the way you need not go! there is enough stuff here to make you think about!

  2. This is a fine piece of poetry, Soumya. Human life, I think, is in many ways can be alluded to nature and being a bud (or wishing to remain as a bud) is superb.

Besides, I always love reading about Flowers… Blake, Stevenson, Tagore, Browning, Gibran…. now you…:D

    • This is an amazing comment ,rather a compliment Manu! I shall have to treasure the words you say when u even take my name after blake, tagore and Gibran! I feel blessed! thank you!
